The Little Things That Count. At West Valley Middle School, it all adds up.

From the academics and electives, our students and staff, to our sports and after-school fun, we are a school of great might. Not every school has what we have. Not everyschool provides the opportunity/enviroment to thrive.

Wildcat Girls Basketball 3-Peat Championship

March 2016

We are so proud of our 7th grade girls Imen, Flower, Carlee, Siena, Kylie, Paula, Katie, Yasmin and 6th grade guest player Tayah. With the guidance of Coach Darci and Coach Eric King, West Valley Middle School brought home the 2016 St. Catherine’s Cougar Classic Championship Trophy.

On Thursday, January 28th and Saturday, January 30th our girls played their hearts out in the 16th annual Cougar Classic Basketball Tournament in Morgan Hill. We defeated St. Christopher in the championship game by a nail-biting 29 to 28 victory. This is the third year in a row West Valley Middle School has brought home the St. Catherine’s Cougar Classic trophy. We are so PROUD of our girls and dedicated coaches.

In addition to bringing home the 2016 St. Catherine’s Cougar Classic trophy we also brought home some individual awards to add to our success. Paula Goodison, who plays power forward, was recognized for the “all-tournament team” player award.

One of the huge highlights to the success to our team was Kylie Francisco who really came through for her team the last quarter with her amazing teamwork and steals ensuring our close win to the opposing team. Siena, one of our guards, contributed to the tournament by being our 2nd highest scoring player, bringing in 9 points for the tournament.

A very special highlight of the tournament goes to Katie Springs who brought home the Cougar Classic's “Tournament MVP” for the third year in a row, in addition to contributing 35 points total for our tournament. Carlee King, who has played all three years on the team, said “it’s an amazing feeling to win three years in a row, super glad we won.”

WAY to go Wildcats!
